The First Polite MAGA I've Chatted with in over 8 Years. Hope or Nope?

I just had a polite interaction with someone who really believes the fake photos of what is supposedly happening in LA. She didn't digress into petty nonsense which was nice. I will get into the mud with the worst of them, because it does make the peanut gallery think. But this mother and wife and daughter made a genuine effort to talk facts, although her facts were mostly wrong. She was trying and genuinely believed what she was saying, but didn't continue to argue when given the actual facts. I'm assuming she looked them up when given the correct information. 

(Yes she probably could've beforehand, but she probably thought she was getting the correct info from wherever she got it in the first place.)

The point is she was double checking and yeah still a little doubling down by adjusting at each new fact, but still. She was clearly trying to correct her own views as she got more accurate information. 

If only all of them got to that point, we might get them out of this craziness. 

My main question to #MAGA is always "What has Trump or the republicans done for you? Be specific." 

Immigration only affects you if you know any immigrants. I knew some from Europe but clearly that doesn't count because no one ever talks about deporting them. To date, only one legitimately was affected, not directly, but close enough I'll give it to him.

Increased taxes are all from the trump 2017 tax bill, so he didn't cut your taxes. 

He hasn't increased manufacturing jobs. 

He has made 9 billionaires even more rich and bragged about it. Are you a billionaire? 

I mean I have facts about so many things he has done to screw average America. And I only have one that helped average Americans, but no one ever comes up with it. Of course, it only helped less than 1%, so...

Egg prices are down but still more than $1.25 more for 18 eggs than before the bird flu. 

Gas prices are the same. They really haven't gone up or down more than usual, although they were better under Biden by a tiny bit. 

Food prices are still sky high overall. 10-20%. Meat is still double depending on cut. Salmon is still double. Steaks are still almost double. Chicken is about 1/3 more. Fresh vegetables are still going up. Bacon is still 1.5x what it was before trump got back in office. 

He's got all of MAGA terrified of an invasion coming over the Mexican border into LA. It's a 2.5 hours drive, without traffic. They're not walking across into LA like he said. I guess he's never driven from LA to San Diego, let alone the Mexican border. (Neither have I, but I do know how to Google maps and see how long a drive is supposed to take.)

He's got the USA put on multiple countries high alert warning not to travel here, including Canada. I mean Canada. They are our next door neighbors. He's got us arguing with our own neighbors and now he's got us arguing with our biggest long term buddy, bestest pal in the whole wide world. 

Sigh. When will his following and minions finally be tired of all the nonsense? I mean there's just so much of it. I miss when most people didn't care. I always have. Politics has always been my thing, but most people used to glaze over because they didn't know and they didn't care. Now they pretend to care even though they still don't know. 

Maybe this one person was a sign they are finally thinking about it. Or maybe it's a one off. But a girl can dream. She might be the missing link to fixing this.
